THE ACTORS SURVIVAL GUIDE
1 hour 30mins workshop“What it takes to be an actor today?”
So you have learnt about different acting techniques, you have mastered improvisation; you may have even finally got the idea of what Stanislavski was going on about! You are now ready to take the acting world by storm. But how do you get that first job? How do you survive when you are resting?
This workshop offers students considering or above to venture on a career as an actor. A unique opportunity to get the inside information from Professional Actors working in the Entertainment Business. It will provide an invaluable guide and give a head start to any aspiring Actor.
With the use of visual aids, role play and case studies, the workshop will look at:
- Publicity shots - Getting an agent - Equity - Spotlight
- Casting directors Working Resting Q&A

THE CASTING
2 hour workshopAfter a couple of months resting you finally get the call from your agent “I have a commercial casting for you”. This is music to your ears as you had began to wonder if your agent had forgotten who you are!
The pressure is on. Now you have a chance to show what you can do and get that first job under your belt, earn some much needed cash and self - respect. But what awaits you? How do you prepare? This workshop from the offset will be structured like a professional commercial casting. Each student will be put through the casting process with Professional Actors playing the part of the Casting Director and Director. This experience will help shed light on the secret world of castings and prepare students for what’s to come.
By simulating a commercial casting, role-play and case studies, the workshop will encompass:
- Preparation - Casting sheet filling - Taking of direction
- Improvisation - Case studies - Q&A
